I analyzed proposed laws in the Texas House of Representatives. My analyses contained the effect of current law, what the proposed bill would change about it, the fiscal impact of the bill, and debate surrounding the bill. My analyses appeared in the Daily Floor Report and are part of the permanent legislative record of the state of Texas.The standard of writing expected was extremely high. My writing had to be concise, unambiguously clear, and complete. Furthermore, due to the compressed schedule of the Texas Legislative session, I often had less than 36 hours to research, write, and edit while being assigned multiple bills per day.

I worked at he Labor Market and Career Information Office to analyze and publish data on the Texas economy and workforce. I produced data visualizations and talking points for the Texas Labor Market Review and briefings used to brief legislators and other state officials.
