As a Consultant/ Operations Manager in regulated children's homes services, my role is defined by a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance within these critical environments. I provide invaluable guidance to facility managers and staff, assisting them in navigating complex regulatory frameworks while prioritising the safety, well-being, and development of the children under their care. My responsibilities included meticulously reviewing policies, procedures, and operational protocols to align them with legal requirements, industry best practices, and the unique needs of the children.

An Ofsted approved Registered Manager and directly accountable for the service complying with legislation, Quality Care Standards for Children’s Homes (2015) and Council policy and procedures. Ensuring NELC’s most vulnerable children are given the absolute best chances and start in life.Key Achievements:• Consistent ‘GOOD’, and numerous ‘OUTSTANDING’ overall graded Inspections regulated by Ofsted, throughout my leadership and Management tenure. • Currently Graded ‘OUTSTANDING’ in all areas for a second year in succession.• Local Authority ‘Leading Lights Awards’ nomination for ‘Manager of the Year’.• Successfully implemented Organisational change managing staffing resources, 200 plus, creating efficiency and effectiveness in meeting the needs of the Organisation whilst creating a saving of over £100K per year.

I started my career in NELC’s People Services working with Adults with a Learning and or a Physical Disability. After six years I changed my career path to work in Children Services as this offered more professional growth opportunity. Between 2003 and 2009 I worked in a variety of Children Services sectors, developing and leading various projects within budgetary constraints successfully, such as ‘The Agency Returnee Project’ and ‘The Out Of Hours Pediatric Crisis Support Service’ the latter being in partnership with Clinical Commissioning Group. I have worked in a leadership role overseeing direct family work with children who were on the edge of care proceedings, successfully enabling them to move away from this process.
