About David Duron

I am a first year Patent Attorney with a specialization in biomedical science. My background includes a JD at UC Davis and a PhD in Medical Pharmacology at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine. With areas of study involving molecular pharmacology through a neuroscience and physiological perspective. I have many years of experience with in-vitro cellular models/assays, as well as in-vivo rodent models/assays. My skill sets as a scientist in both in-vitro and in-vivo assays has enabled a dual sided approached to all of my academic research and am currently translating my broad academic experience into the field of patent and intellectual property law.

    Investigation of novel pre-clinical opioid therapies and their molecular mechanisms. My projects in the Streicher lab have involved the modulation of opioid signal transduction through the use of novel small molecules targeting heat shock proteins with the hopes of achieving enhanced analgesia while minimizing opioid induced side effects. Additionally, we have begun to investigate the impacts of diet on morphine pharmacodynamics. These projects have been approached from both an in-vivo and in-vitro perspective allowing for more comprehensive conclusions.
