I started my career on the floor of the NYMEX trading oil and gas futures and options as a member and floor broker. Then I moved to the banking side, trading FX options first for Credit Lyonnais in NY, and then Bear Stearns. At Bear Stearns I branched out into the equities area partnering with our equities syndicate team to launch and manage the risk of long-dated Japanese Yen Put Warrants, which were listed on the American Stock exchange. I subsequently moved to Sydney to manage the FX options books for Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where I successfully navigated an extremely risk laden portfolio during the Asian Financial Crisis of 1998. My move to London was the beginning of my career in FX & FI sales, where I successfully built up the client base for Commonwealth Bank in London. On my retrun to NY, my former colleagues at Bear Stearns asked me to return. At Bear, I built out FX Options hedge fund sales group. When Bear Stearns collapsed, I moved with the entire FX sales force to Natixis. There I was able to develop a robust and highly profitable FX & Fixed Income derivatives sales group.
