Hefty Seed Company is an outstanding company to work for. The owners Brian and Darren Hefty, are not sitting in corporate offices, they are involved at the ground level with sales staff, agronomist, even the growers themselves. Brian and Darren farm themselves as well, sharing freely all test plot data, and personal experiences on the Internet, and Sirrius Radio. They have strong faith and encourage it with their employees. Certified Crop Advisor since 2000. Responsible for walking and scouting fields and making pesticide recommendations. I take all necessary soil samples and make fertilizer recommendations. I work with growers to make sound agronomic decisions and help with budget planning. My growers are like family to me...their success is my number one priority.

My job is a little hard to explain. On the face value of it, I am a Crop Advisor. I walk fields, make nutritional recommendations, go over soil test, and make pesticide recommendations. My job has evolved over the years to be much more than that. I assign all jobs to our staff in the shop. I order all products and forecast their use. I weld and repair equipment. I design new equipment. I operate our custom application machines , including dry and pesticide. I take care of all injection on… Show more My job is a little hard to explain.
