A gloomy evening in October 1980 something, I popped into the world. Did some dribbling, some eating, some school, bit of a paper round to show my work ethic. Got some decent GCSEs, popped to college, got some decent A Levels. University, a degree in Simulation and Virtual Reality, which I do not really do much with these days, but made some great chums. Did some rugbying, that was fun, was the social secretary there, showing some form organisation skills, and some great songs.Some temp work followed, scanned some receipts at a car rental place, enjoyed a season of potato farming – early mornings late nights – probably taught me something about long hours and the benefit of a plumbed in toilet.Then got a job doing some tax, got married, had some ace kids, and here we are.I work in personal tax and corporate tax, I enjoy the problem solving elements, helping out clients, and working with some great staff. I value being able to explain complex matters to staff in the team and watching them grow (not in a weird way). Communication is key in the role I am in, and I encourage this amongst the team and feel confident in being able to communicate to people up and down the ladder, as well as communicate well with clients, also with varying knowledge (and interest) in what I am chatting about.I am pretty decent in Excel and computers generally, exceptionality good at reaching stuff on high shelves which is an undervalued skill these days. Pretty good at making cute kids, but this is probably not the platform to go into too much detail on, that is on my WinkedIn profile.My profile pic is showing my ‘fun’ side, also they are just sunglasses, I am not Medusa or anything.
