Orchestrated the entire real estate development lifecycle for a national retailer resulting in the opening of 47 stores in a five state region. Key Contributions:• Gained management approval and trust in the plan for site selection, acquisition, due diligence, zoning approvals, entitlements and design and permitting.• Effectively represented the owner’s interest during the construction development process. • Ensured adherence to the project plan while managing a team of two site acquisition specialists, two developers and two administrative support personnel.

Responsible fo General Legal compliance, contracts, risk management, real estate acquisition and development, human resources and retirement savings plan administration. Consistently strengthened the organization’s legal position regarding contracts, zoning, real estate selection and purchase, customer relations, liability and employment issues.

Eagle-Picher was a diversified manufacturing company with sales of $850 million in 2000. The company operated globally, with over 6000 employees in 32 facilities. Primary markets served include automotive OEMs, defense, telecommunications, construction equipment and filtration.Reported to the Chief Executive Officer and was responsible for leadership of the Human Resource function for the corporation including labor relations, benefit design & administration, and regulatory compliance. Also served as Chairman of Pension Committee and directed Corporate Human Resource department including three professionals and four administrative employees. Provided functional leadership, support and services to division human resource departments. Important accomplishments included:• Negotiated over 40 labor contracts with the UAW, Operating Engineers, Teamsters, USWA, Ironworkers, and Boilermakers unions.Represented company in labor arbitration and before government regulatory agencies.

Responsible for Corporate Human Resource function including labor relations and benefit administration. Assisted Division personnel with legal compliance.

Managed the defense and settlement of over 20,000 asbestos personal injury claims. After the Company filed Chapter 11 I managed the Bankruptcy Claims Unit processing both trade claims and asbestos personal injury claims.
