This year I am working as an ELL (EAL) Specialist, providing targeted literacy support for Grade 4-5 students requiring additional assistance to develop reading proficiency and foundational skills. I am designing customized learning trajectories aligning with student needs, and closely monitoring student progress through ongoing formative and summative evaluations to ensure support is appropriately scoped and paced. I collaborate with classroom teachers to implement cohesive learning plans with the goal to amply ready the student for on-level study. Last year I was a Grade 3 Homeroom teacher, serving as the lead teacher for English, overseeing curriculum planning and lesson implementation. Working closely with a co-teacher, we coordinated our units and assignments to provide consistency for students.I incorporated a variety of interactive activities, including student-led projects focused on collaboration, problem-solving and technology skills. These demonstrations of understanding assessed higher-order thinking.Communicating regularly with parents through digital updates and personal meetings, I discussed academic progress, behavior notes, and reading goals. Test scores were analyzed to provide targeted support through flexible grouping and conferencing.With a learner-centered philosophy, I strove to ignite a love of learning through engaging material presented creatively. Skills like cooperation, creative expression and digital literacy were explicitly taught across subjects.By fostering care, challenge and celebration of effort, I partnered with the extended school community to help all children fulfill their potential and find international education engaging and meaningful.

As a Grade 3 and 5 Homeroom teacher, I played an integral role in designing, planning and delivering high-quality English curriculum and integrated IPC units. I worked closely with the Grade 3 and 5 teams to map out units and ensure consistent standards across both year groups.In addition to teaching engaging and interactive lessons, I was responsible for developing project-based assessments, assignments and activities that encouraged collaboration, problem-solving and other 21st century skills.I maintained timely and clear parental communication through conferences, reports and online updates regarding students' academic progress, behavior and social-emotional development.Beyond core subjects, I oversaw data collection for standardized testing and worked diligently to analyze student results to best support individual learning needs.Through fun and meaningful lessons, I nurtured students' love of language learning while also enhancing skills like communication, creativity and critical thinking.With a student-centered approach focused on ensuring every child's success, I effectively united families, teachers and administrators to make each student's international education rewarding.
