• Direct staff and assist with preparation of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for large scale safety net facility• Lead completion of all major areas of reimbursement including GME/IME, Disproportionate Share Calculation (DSH), Uncompensated Care, Bad Debts, and Organ Acquisition• Supervise the audit of Medicare/Medicaid cost reports and all settlement issues related to cost report reopenings, as well as report potential effect of findings to upper/executive management• Complete Medicare & Medicaid Net Revenue Models in efforts to predict cost report settlements and subsequent journal entries to update booked liabilities• Conduct weekly team meetings for direct reports to provide status updates, problem-solving, and staff education• Collaborate with Director of Reimbursement in writing, reviewing, and implementing department formal policies and procedures as well as charity care and financial assistance policies• Participate in preparation of feasibility studies for new programs, new contracts, and changes in existing programs• Analyze proposed legislative changes and IPPS/OPPS Proposed Rules to estimate impact to hospital reimbursement
