Specific roles and responsibilities include:- Manage the subcontract tender process, including the selection of sub-contractors and provision of all relevant contract and schedule documentation- Ensure that subcontracts are placed in an appropriate manner- Ensure that each sub-contractor’s account is managed strictly in accordance with their terms and conditions- Continually monitor projected costs to completion in line with budget- Ensure contract changes are identified, valued and turned into agreed change orders with the Client in a timely manner- Manage the risk management process through engaging with the team, monitoring and reviewing risks, and reporting monthly to management and Client.

Specific roles and responsibilities include:- Arranging and leading regular progress meetings with Consultants;- Providing contractual advice to my stakeholders ensuring Consultants are meeting their obligations under the contract- Reviewing Early Warning Notices and working with the team to ensure that any issues and risks are flagged at the earlier opportunity and mitigated effectively;- Reviewing and obtaining approval for the commercial aspects of Employer Instructions;- Managing a register to monitor project risks, finance and programme;- Monitoring cost of work done, monthly forecasts, variances, anticipated final costs, reviewing milestones and resources on a regular basis.

General; I have been involved on a number of projects circa £21 million. I am able to review contractor delivery, including where appropriate, attend valuation and progress meetings.Estimating; I assist in the production of estimates across Sussex, Wessex, Kent and Anglia. This has involved the utilisation of the Candy Estimating system for which he has been given a license.Valuations; I support the assessment and valuation process of contractor’s applications and process payment certification in accordance with contractual terms and conditionsProject Delivery; I have been involved within the Signal Centre projects circa £110 million in Sussex and Wessex Grip 1-6. Activities include pre-contract for Three Bridges ROC up to Grip 6, optionneering and surveys at Romford ROC Grip 3 and 4, and initial briefing meetings, planning and surveys at Basingstoke Campus. I liaise with and support the Project Manager with any change requests that may arise, produces all documentation required for approval and organises the change to Purchase Orders.Tendering; I have had an active role in the Pre-Contract award stage of competitive tendering covering the Invitation to Tender process of producing pricing documents and the eventual Contract Award. One project to note was Three Bridges ROC to Spencer for £16 million. This has involved site attendance to establish quantities and reviewing detailed drawings.Reporting; I support the finance reporting within the Network Rail reporting framework including Cost Forecasting, Anticipated Final Cost, Cost of Work Done and Current Contract Value; and is able to provide robust Cost Analysis Feedback.Final Accounts; I can undertake Final Account settlements to facilitate the close-out process as per the project authority and project plan within the timescales

Valuations; I am able to complete valuations for clients by taking contractors’ applications and inputting the figures into a Cost Report Valuation and dealing with any variations that may occur. I can distinguish whether the works claimed for is accurate by attending site, I can discuss any of my concerns with the contractor and then produce a subsequent certificate for all parties involved.Take-off; I can produce take-off calculations to SMM7 for the pre-tendering process.Prepare Tender/Contract documents; I have assisted the Senior Surveyor in preparing tender and contract documents for issue to the Client, Project Manager and Contractor.Contracts; I have knowledge on the Minor and Intermediate JCT form of Contract.I also have basic knowledge of Project Management after working closely with our Project Manager and overseeing all finishes to a block of flats.
