I have been a professional mediator and conflict resolution specialist for the last twenty years.# However, I am now enlarging the scope of my work. I am applying the tools, strategies and insights I have gained from my mediation career to the longstanding conflict between white people and black people in this country. It is a huge problem, but I believe there are some simple, tangible things any of us could do to vastly improve the situation. I share my insights and strategies on this question in my new book: "BLACK & WHITE: HOW TO HAVE OUR AMERICAN CONVERSATION ABOUT RACE." #Awards: I received two "Outstanding Case of the Year Awards," 2000, 2001, in the los Angeles County Superior Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Program. RELATIONSHIP ENGINEER - I ZAP CONFLICT.I've developed a new method for resolving conflict that I call the "One Good Idea Method." It uses a comedy writing technique that I used in an earlier career writing for "THE MONKEES" TV show. It is extremely effective. In fact, for three years I served in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program of the Los Angeles County Court System, and I received the OUTSTANDING CASE OF THE YEAR AWARD for two of my three years.

I named my coaching and consulting company ONE GOOD IDEA, because I have found that almost all my coaching and consulting clients are just One Good Idea away from making some major breakthrough. My coaching is designed to help my clients find that One Good Idea they need.

In addition to other jobs I had at different studios, I wrote several books:"ONE GOOD IDEA"...That's all you need. This is a book about innovation."THE GOOD BOOK...of Bible Cartoons,""Does GOD Ever Speak through CATS?""The Famous Hooper Brothers" (Winner of the National Best Books 2007 Award for Best Graphic Novel.)

In this position, I served part time as a mediator for the Los Angeles County Court Dispute Resolution Program. With 14,000 cases a year, this is the largest such program in the country.In both 2000 and 2001 I received the OUTSTANDING CASE AWARD.I also mentored students in the Masters Degree Program at the Strauss Center for Dispute Resolution, at Pepperdine University. U.S. World News and Report has named this program the #1 dispute resolution program in the country.

Wrote several humorous films for Sy Wexler that were used extensively in schools. One won the Golden Apple Award and another won the Bronze Apple award.

Wrote short, funny films for businesses and schools that won seven national film awards.

Wrote 19 scripts for "LOVE AMERICAN STYLE."

Wrote for "THE MONKEES" TV show the year it won the Emmy Award for Best Comedy. Wrote scripts for the show both years it was on.

While I worked for Jay Ward (producer of Bullwinkle), I was a member of the team that created the name and the cartoon character for CAPTAIN CRUNCH CEREAL.

I wrote funny greeting cards for American Greetings. My cards have sold over 17 million copies.
