Responsibilities:• Responsible for power generation and distribution throughout the ship, providing un-interrupted supplies to equipment including sensitive electronic equipment.• Organising a team of 6 technicians, allocating daily maintenance tasks and ensuring all maintenance is conducted to a high standard and recorded on maintenance management system.• Conducting planned preventive maintenance to optimise efficiency of machinery and reduce downtime.• Managing potable water quality to meet set standards, taking daily samples and treating as necessary, monitoring production to ensure sufficient stored quantity and monitoring distribution system pressures.• Reacting to breakdowns, rectifying defects and returning equipment to an operational state in a safe and timely manner.• Ensuring all personnel adhere to Safe Systems of Work, issuing and auditing tag-outs/lock-outs and permits.• Conducting on job training to assist junior technicians reach career goals and steps towards promotion..

Overseeing sections of up to 10 junior technicians, ensuring maintenance is carried out as planned to maintain optimum performance of machinery. Providing on job training for personnel to reach the required standard of the Royal Navy.
