I am a Principal at Carmody MacDonald P.C. in St Louis where I practice real estate litigation and commercial litigation. I have litigated in numerous jurisdictions, state and federal, throughout Missouri, Illinois and Kansas. My real estate litigation experience includes representation of both condemning authorities and property owners in eminent domain proceedings, landlord-tenant actions, neighboring property disputes, mechanics' lien litigation, construction disputes and representation of residential and commercial developers before zoning and land use planning authorities in St. Louis City and St. Louis County.My commercial litigation experience has been wide and varied, including numerous business disputes, representation of a national retailer in false arrest, assault and premises liability cases, representation of a national insurance brokerage in various errors and omissions related matters, representation of lenders in predatory lending, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and improper loan servicing disputes together with an array of commercial disputes for a developer, manufacturer and distributor of specialty animal nutrition programs.In addition to being a full-time lawyer, I am a part-time police officer. Prior to graduating from law school, I served as a police officer for the municipality of University City, Missouri, from 1986 to 1991. I served as a commissioned reserve police officer for the City of Chesterfield, Missouri, from 2005 through 2008 and I am currently a commissioned reserve police officer with the Creve Coeur, Missouri Police Department. In 2007, I was appointed by Missouri Governor Matt Blunt to serve on the Governor's Task Force on Campus Security in the wake of the horrific Virginia Tech attack.
