David Ferris is the Owner and Principal CIO of Sensible Systems, LLC. Sensible Systems provides IT Management Services for small to mid-size companies in Colorado. Prior to founding Sensible Systems, David had over 20 years of successful IT and high-tech experience including the roles of CIO, CTO, Senior Principal Consultant and Managing Principal Consultant. He has worked in industries as diverse as manufacturing, R&D, aerospace, retail, banking, investment, human capital management, real estate, software, construction, government and healthcare in either a senior consultative or executive role. He has successfully worked with executive management teams in creating companies and consulting practices from the ground up. He was an e-Business Practice Manager and Chief Technologist for Keane, Inc. in the Midwestern United States. During his tenure there, he worked on several significant e-Business projects for Fortune 500 clients. Much of that experience was the basis for his book, “Building an Intelligent e-Business”, published in 2001. He was one of the first 300 people in the United States to simultaneously hold both the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) certifications. He developed an application for the orthopedics industry (CaptureWare™) which enabled surgeons to have a documented process for determining the outcomes analysis of patients for insurers. This application was translated into other languages and used internationally. He was a member of the Telecommunications Working Group for the Indianapolis Economic Development Council. As a RF (Radio Frequency) Engineer, he contributed to the development of an electron beam control system for the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF, now referred to as Jefferson National Labs) in Newport News, VA. He also contributed to numerous satellite programs while working at Motorola`s Aerospace Electronics Office in Chandler, AZ.
