To keep busy during the summer months whilst I was in college, I took the initiative to set up a small business maintaining gardens around the local community. This along with the experience that I gained from working on Building sites from a young age allowed me to the opportunity to build up a modest customer base with most of the customers returning annually. Unfortunately I had to step back from this as the demand grew to great and I didn't want my course work to be adversely affected. I gained valuable experience regarding scheduling, work plans and perhaps most of all offering others the chance of part time employment while I was very young.

I worked closely with the other WITSU members to ensure campaigns and events ran as smoothly as possible. In my time within WITSU, I sat on the WIT Education board as well as the WITSU executive committee. This furthered my experience having been a Class Representative for my 4 years in WIT and School Convener for Humanities in my fourth and final year.

It was with Verve that I gained my initial experience of working outside the construction industry. I developed good inter personal skills and an ability to speak confidently about products I was promoting. Having led a number of successful promotional campaigns as team lead, I stepped back from promotional marketing to focus on my campaign for the WITSU elections.
