I am responsible for the preparation of the business plan and submission of the Financial Forecast Return (FFR) to the Regulator for Social Housing (RSH). This involves agreeing base assumptions and preparing a suite of multi-variate stress tests to be presented and agreed by Strategic Board. The return to RSH is a 30-year business plan and provides details of all base assumptions in the plan.The second element to my role is managing the systems team. This includes creating plans for the provision of training to users around the business and reviewing all processes ensuring best practice. The team and I are responsible for new finance projects and for preparation and presentation of business cases to IT Steering Group.

Alongside my current role as Finance Manager - Development I secured the position of Assistant Project Manager to implement an upgraded Finance System, Purchase to Pay System, Budgeting & Forecasting System and Asset Management System.I worked closely with the project manager and project team to design, build and implement the systems. I provided assistance in liaising with the provider of the systems to manage deadlines, workload and expectations.I provided detailed training for the Purchase to Pay system to the whole business and have become a lead on this system. I have built an expert knowledge of how the system works and manage the administrator role in Finance to maintain a functioning system.

I provide expert financial advice to the organisations Development team and Development Director. I produce and present reports to the organisations Development Committee analysing the current performance of the Development Programme. I produce the Group Business Plan and Subsidiary Business Plan providing analysis to the Assistant Director of Finance which is presented to Strategic Board. I lead on the setting of the development budget and liaise with the Development Manager and Development Director to set and approve the budget.My team produce monthly forecasts for Development for cash flow management purposes and to feed into monthly reports. This involves process management and meeting key deadlines to ensure delivery of accurate reports.

My main duty was to provide assistance to the Senior Financial Accountant in the preparation of year-end financial statements and transition to FRS 102. I was responsible for the preparation of board reports and submission of the accounts to stakeholders.I was responsible for benchmarking and led on the submission of financial data to multiple sources including sector wide benchmarking groups and back office functions.I maintained the asset register which involved monthly stock reconciliations between data systems and the management of component accounting as well as other fixed assets.

I provided assistance for the production of monthly management reports. As I gained experience my responsibilities grew and I was tasked in creating and improving the current report.I have experience in completing bank reconciliation, budget management and completing other monthly duties including balance sheet reconciliations.Furthermore I monitored several budget areas within the organisation and gathered information from around the business for use in month end profiling and reporting.I was involved in preparing the quarterly VAT return and heavily involved in the annual budget setting process with budget holders as well as completing project work.

My roles and responsibilities at Next were to provide great customer service and to approach customers to increase sales and link-sell a wide range of Next products. Furthermore it was to make Next a pleasant place to shop and a safe one with regular recovery of clothing and accessories on the shop floor. Additional roles include offering the Next Directory to customers and encouraging use of the new and improved ordering system that Next has to offer.

As a summer placement I was able to learn about the financial aspects of the NHS though shadowing the Associative Director of Finance. As part of my role I produced key performance indicators (KPI's) for the department that were scrutinised by management to ensure fitness for purpose. I was also afforded the opportunity to become involved with the Nurse Staffing Review as a way to run divisions of the hospital more efficiently and also improve patient experiences.
