With many years of experience in the Australian Community Development and Arts scene, I have had the privilege of working in various capacities across every state and territory in Australia. My diverse roles have included actor, Community Arts Officer, Artistic Director, Festival Director, Theatre Producer, Creative Lifestyle Facilitator in Aged Care, Volunteer recruitment and training. I have also extended my reach internationally by delivering projects that have made a positive impact on communities worldwide.My career has been marked by a steadfast commitment to building relationships and resources that empower communities to work together in creating spaces and events that resonate with their ideas and culture. I firmly believe in the transformative power of the community development as a catalyst for social change and inclusion. In my practice, I emphasize diversity, individual and community agency, access, and equity, all of which are central to my approach to my leadership.I am recognized as a trailblazer in the development of innovative and inclusive community and arts projects that empower both artists and communities through collaborative partnerships. My work has consistently promoted community ownership and leadership in programs and projects, resulting in a rich tapestry of creative events, performances, exhibitions, and festivals that resonate with audiences and participants alike.I am currently the Volunteer and Creative Engagement Partner for Lutheran Services working in Aged Care and Community Services. In this role, I have set up Intergenerational projects in regional Queensland and Brisbane. I produce arts projects that involved artists, residents in Aged Care - many of who are living with dementia. Recruit and train Volunteers to work as Creative Lifestyle assistants.Highlights of My Career Journey include:The inaugural Community Arts Officer in Tasmania.Access Arts' inaugural Artistic Director in Brisbane.Co-founded DADAA, the National Arts & Disability and Disadvantage network.CEO of Deckchair Theatre, where I produced numerous state-wide, national, and international tours of the company's work.The Festivals and Events Manager with Mackay Regional Council. The Creative Program Producer for the Brisbane City Council.I am dedicated to making a positive impact through the arts and am committed to fostering creativity, inclusivity, and social change in communities across Australia and beyond.
