Duty Tasking Officer
The DTO under the delegation of the Head Of Flying Operations, has the duty of authorizing all aeromedical flights by RFDS aircraft upon the request of RSQ for inter-facility transfer of QLD Health patients. Complying with RFDS policies and Procedures.> Report to key personnel factors directly affecting the safety of flight for day to day operations or programmed operations.> Ensure efficient planning, tasking and oversight of the RFDS assets and crew, contributing to the safety, economy and efficiency of all RFDS assets> Ensure passenger and patient manifest details for all operational assets are produced all flights> Be a point of contact when rostered for aeromedical retrieval requests from QLD Health through Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ) and from RFDS Medical Officers in RFDS Traditional Bases in line with Patient Priority Tasking guidelines> Provide RSQ a daily appreciation of the weather, Notam and aerodrome facility information relevant to the operational capability for requested tasks.> Liaise with QAS EMDs for ambulance requirements where required to ensure patients are ready for transfer at the designated airport at the time requested by RFDS Aeromedical crew.> Liaise with Manager Line Operations on any aviation or service delivery issues.> Liaise with Maintenance Engineering Supervisors on aircraft AOG and maintenance issues during tasked flights taking in consideration continued airworthiness, MEL and deferred defect matters.> Provide efficient, accurate and timely communication with all relevant stakeholders.

Aviation Operations Coordinator
Airport Operations Control Supervisor
Primary functions of the role are overseeing the Airport Movement Coordinators as they organise bay allocation, refueling, catering, and liaise with tech crew, cabin crew and with Operations Control duty managers in regards to the on time performance or disruption management of the VA fleet through BNE. Heavy focus on the successful sequencing and planning of our head start departures and towing as we aim for the optimal bay plan combined with remote bay bussing operations to ensure 25+ on time head start departures out of the 10 bays Virgin utilize.Directly supervise and influence Day of Operations planners as they manage the resources for both the airside and Guest services teams. Ensure appropriate workload and EBA obligated breaks are met whilst ensuring the 100+ aircraft movements through BNE daily are adequately serviced and departed on time. Also oversee the administration side of the role where roster optimization and cost efficiency targets are balanced with operational coverage.Finally oversee the Disruption coordinators as they re-accommodate misconnected guests onto later flights and coordinate transport to and from hotels and the hotel accommodation. Key example of this being the recent Bali ash cloud disruptions and coordinating the accommodation recovery of hundreds of guest during this period.The role also entails liaising with the Airport manager and internal leaders daily reviewing the head start performance of the airport and forecasting areas of concern for later in the day. Also identify and highlight risks to the operation or ways to improve or optmise our current ways engaging internal and external stakeholders to ensure improvement in our business.
Airside Bagroom Operations Supervisor
Managing a team of 20+ to ensure all guest baggage is processed appropriately from check in to the departure area of the bag room and prepared for delivery to the outbound aircraft in compliance with SOPS and safety practices. Also oversee the safe delivery of guest baggage for collection via carousels.Oversee the transfer of both international and domestic connecting baggage, often liaising with international baggage coordinators in regards to connections. Liaise with Disruption coordinators in regards to baggage being transferred to alternate flights and re accommodating baggage from cancelled services. Coordinate baggage transfer with Baggage services in re accommodating “missed” or damaged bags onto alternate flights or couriers to ensure fastest recovery of baggage to guest.Liaise with internal and external parties in regards to making improvements to process or facilities to increase the performance of the baggage room or staff within it ensuring key performance indicators are met.
Airside Ramp Operations Supervisor
Directly supervise up to ten teams of 5 staff as they unload and load aircraft on the virgin ramp in the supervisor role. As a relief shift leader I would oversee the 10+ teams as well as directly oversee 4 airside and bag room supervisors, ensuring any incidents were followed up appropriately and also coordinate any extraordinary situations such as fuel spills, aircraft damage, staff or guest injury or environmental activity such as storms the most significant being Australia day storms of 2013 where I was the shift leader on duty and coordinated the parking of multiple grounded aircraft with the help of BAC creating additional off bay parking for our disrupted fleet. Coordinate resources for heavy flights and identify and focus minimum turns ensuring on time performance targets are met.Liaise with the bag room supervisor in regards to short domestic and international connectionsManage work cover and safety cases, investigating occurrences and providing information to safety department for follow up. Regular auditing of flight files ensuring SOPS are met and filing files for CASA review.Coordinate with Airport control in creating a head start sequencing plan where by utilizing alternate push back location and “release brakes and hold” scenarios ensuring an on time departure for our 20+ morning head starts.Coach and develop staff members both for performance issues and in development opportunities tailoring approach to each scenario to ensure effective outcomes. Develop and mentor staff into opportunities of growth or career development.
Airside Leading Hand
Full time Flight Dispatcher running a team of 5 staff to safely unload and reload aircraft for dispatch. Duties include loading as per load control instructions, coordinating team to load freight, baggage, animals and valuable cargo as per instruction to ensure optimal weight and balance of the aircraft.Ensure ramp staff are following SOPS and identify and follow up and instances where SOPS are breached.
