UNC Urgent Care supports the many UNCPN primary care practices with open access from 9am until 8pm daily. My role is to coordinate clinical provider services, quality and outcomes for this center.

Dunn, North Carolina + Ten Southeastern Sites.

CWH is a Community Health Center based in Dunn, NC with 8 medical practices, 7 dental practices and 3 behavioral health centers. CWH focuses on providing comprehensive health care to our communities regardless of payor source, and includes sliding scale plans for those that are still uninsured. This is a Patient Centered Medical Home site and we focus on population health management to improve people's health outcomes.

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

Oversight and management of a six practices in Community Health Centers serving 17,000 people in our region.Responsible for all clinilcal services related to quality, 22 clinical improvement metrics, certification as a Patient Centered Medical Home, Meaningful Use guildelines, and HRSA federal requirements associated with being a CHC.Development of community partnerships and relationshipswith strategic stakeholders to improve the medical home for our community of patients to enable the important value of health security.Improve systems to emphasize preventive health strategies over episodic care.Instituted an incentive performance program for providers to stimulate new ideas on throughput and clinical care efficiencies. Hired 5 providers over 6 months to improve staffing needs in our centers. Developed a week long Electronic Health record efficiency work shop with a national EHR physician leader using GE/Centricity. Worked with our internal IT to develop reporting to examine documentation times and efficiencies for providers using the EHR.Rewrote and revised 12 clinical policies and protocols to improve clinical efficiencies including a Blood pressure protocol that allowed our clinical indicator to improve from 54% to 60% effective treatment of hypertension in one quarter of time.

Quality projects included a statewide asthma collaborative over 12 months with 20 large practices, and an ADHD collaborative involving national faculty which resulted in a new resource guilde published by the AAP for ADHD care. Performed a DM-II metrics study. Constructed a patient complaint system to improve quality. Member of the pharmacy and therapeutics committee working on formulary preferred Rx list for DMA.Provided management oversight for the Community Alternative Program for Children with disabilities (CAP-C) resulting in 10% reduction in costs.

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

An independent physician association (IPA) comprising 140 physicians in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine and family medicine. The organiziation acted as a liason with managed care insurance companies and these 20+ practices in order to implement performance and other quality and utilzation programs for the network.Constucted Pay4Performance programs, particpated in utilization management programs with insurers.Created a web based pharmaceutical managment plan for member of KEY IPA resulting in a 20% cost reduction in Rx.
