Patrolling Huntington Beach has been very rewarding, as I get to be a part of a lifeguarding organization that makes the most rescues per summer in the world. I apply my medical expertise and exercise my ocean rescue ability. I lead large groups, communicate in a professional environment, and represent my work to the public. Saving countless lives, lifeguarding has been a passion that has helped me grow and care for other people.

Spearheaded the improvement of safety practices at every compressor station in California, visiting 11 compressor stations ranging from Blythe to Ventura. Created a safety orientation for each station for contractors, vendors, and new employees to be trained. Created a model to measure key performance indicators of reciprocating and centrifugal compressing units. Worked with station operators and personnel to increase thermal efficiency of the turbine and polytropic efficiency of the compressor. Created a safety work permit for the whole company, allowing contractors and employees to be protected. Verified and logged 1.9 mmscf of natural gas emissions with compressor station personnel. Spearheaded the decommissioning of an entire compressor station, saving SoCalGas millions. Analyzed Sulfur content in gas streams.

Supported process engineers and chemists in creating new pharmaceuticals and documenting the procedure. Focusing primarily on tableting, developing procedures for setup, testing, and breakdown to maximize API consumption documenting results in batch records. Independently conducted various procedures, including solid fraction testing, flow testing, blending, and characterization testing, showcasing proficiency in cGMP sample testing and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives for lab cleanliness and efficiency.

Developed a library of natural colorants for Nutrilite’s global softgel portfolio. This included acquiring samples by contacting suppliers, developing a gelatin formula, creating colored gelatin swatches with the samples, and assessing the appearance. Compared various process techniques to produce lab-scale gelatin swatches that were representative of the large-scale manufacturing process. Scaling up my formula, I created 40 kg batches and encapsulated the softgels in the pilot plant and packaged them in the packaging plant. Initiated stability studies to understand colorant impacts on dissolution time and shelf life. Showcased project at Amway’s World HQ to 200+ executives and employees. Shadowed manufacturing and packaging engineers while working in research and development.
