Specialist secondment position to support the wider deliver for UofG Sport.Overseeing all areas of the service, I was responsible for day to day operational leadership and led on the completion of the annual delivery plan providing outstanding customer experiences for our students, staff and community customers.

Managing and leading the operation of this 120 bedroom, 4-star City Centre hotel with a turnover in excess of £8 million. I lead 8 head of departments in the operations teams with over 80 team members to deliver great service to the customer every time. Leading food and beverage including a £1.4 million Grill Restaurant and Bar department which receives over 2500 covers weekly to Starbucks and Conference and Events sections. I lead the reception, housekeeping, leisure and spa teams to deliver high quality service. I review and audit our performance, daily, weekly and monthly to ensure we deliver the best results. We monitor our customer satisfaction through Review Pro and trip advisor review platforms. Completing business reviews and assisting building and delivering budgets yearly, monthly and daily. I contribute sales and marketing plans to ensure we achieve revenue and profit targets

Planning and opening the brand-new Village Gym club and Spa in our brand-new hotel in Edinburgh. I was responsible for building the business budget and strategy to launch the business. Recruitment, sales and marketing planning and operating procedures with health and safety policies fully covered. We achieved 1500 members in the first 2 months and our club target of 3000 members within 18 months. First year turnover over £1.2 million, £150’000 ahead of budget. Year two turnover £1.8 million and year 3 result of £2 million revenue converting to £1.018 million profit. I achieved health club of the year, manager of the year and sales team of the year for the group for 2016.

Responsible for an annual turnover in excess of £800000 my role was to develop strategies to increase new business in both club, spa and café bar whilst providing first class service to our current guests to retain their custom and achieve repeat visits. I created sales and marketing campaigns to attract new business and built retention plans and rewards for our current custom. I grew the membership base by 50% from 500 members to 750 and grew the spa average weekly revenue from £8.5k per week to £9.5k. We won Best Fitness Facility for a Hotel award at the National Fitness awards for the UK and the 5 Bubbles spa award from the good spa guide.

I was responsible for generating new membership sales for the Edinburgh club and supporting the Newhaven club. I developed new and innovative marketing schemes to drive new enquiries.
