My role with Apex is to manage R&D tax credit studies for clients across many industries. This includes identifying the information required to calculate the credit, interfacing with clients to explain the study process, reviewing calculations in-depth for accuracy, and presenting the study findings to the client. Because the credit requires a multi-disciplinary approach, I work with engineering, legal, and accounting experts to ensure that we are providing service of the highest quality.

As a senior director, I am responsible for managing relationships with both taxpayers and accounting professionals. This includes preliminary benefit analysis, computation of federal and state tax benefits, and working with the accountant to maximize client benefit. I am also directly responsible for fostering new business growth throughout the country.

As a senior project manager, I meet with clients to evaluate their potential to qualify for the R&D Tax Credit, per sections 41 and 174 of the tax code. My position involves in-depth examination of projects to determine if they qualify, examination of financial documents to determine benefit to the client, and actual computation of federal and state tax credits. In addition to the above, I am also responsible for ensuring that the credits are supported in federal and state audits.

As a technical consultant and project manager, I travel to meet with clients who may be performing qualified activity per sections 41 and 174 of the tax code, and go through their project and financial information to determine if they qualify for a federal or state tax credit.

As an engineer, performed design and project functions for various clients, including the nuclear, mining and food industries. Design work was largely in compressible flow and atmosphere control.As a project manager, led a project team of approximately 20 people to partially re-design and construct projects for the nuclear industry. Duties included design review and modification, personnel management, schedule and financial planning, and interfacing with the customer to ensure the project met the quality standards of NQA-1.

Worked with charter schools in the St. Louis Area to develop and implement a robotics league using the VEX First competitions as a model.
