Very experienced structural engineer responsible for business development opportunities form Ramboll both in the UK and internationally. I have been leading the development of a new approach to the structural engineering solutions for off-site (modular) construction systems. As Ramboll is an inter-disciplinary consultancy I have access to many specialists and designers in all fields of construction and can combine their skills to provide a client with a single integrated design team.A major part of my responsibilities at RUK is Project Director leading multi disciplinary design teams on projects in the UK and internationally. Examples are:Supporting ESO as Technical Advisor on the design and construction of the European Extremely Large Telescope in ChileLeading the Multi-discplianry Techncal Advisor team supporting British Antarctic Survey.Previously responsibly for a project to assess the seismic resilience of public hospitals in Nepal. Project is part of an international aid programme to improve natural disaster resilience in Nepal.

Prior to the acquisition of Gifford by Ramboll I was the partner responsible for the Structural Engineering team based in our Chester office. As a building structures team we have been involved with buildings and structures in all market sectors and have designed hospitals, schools, industrial buildings, hotels etc. We have a number of specialisms including historic engineering where we have been responsible for amongst other projects the conservation of Birmingham Town Hall and Compton Verney Art Gallery. We have a team of engineers who have lead the development of modular building construction systems for specialist manufacturing companies for volumetric off fabrication (sometimes called pods). The modules are formed from light guage cold formed steel sections and offer factory finished rooms delivered to site for swift nd efficient erection.The Chester office has more recently been involved with the design of energy generation facilities using biomass or waste.
