I was also responsible for conducting regular informal audits for the school’s various departments to ensure compliance with university health and safety guidelines and compliance with OSHA regulations. For example, I developed a new program to deal with mercury waste disposal. I worked with the Washington State Department of Environmental Health and Safety, the Washington State Department of Environmental Quality, and other relevant persons within the university to develop a program and policies to cut down on mercury waste and bring the school into compliance with state and federal regulations. I provided project management services for the School of Dentistry, including primary responsibility for 12 remodeling projects within the school with a combined budget of over 2.5 million dollars. I coordinated with the affected departments, construction workers, outside vendors, and other parties to ensure quality outcomes.

Duties required assignment to production work centers to inspect work and perform required quality assurance inspections during all maintenance actions performed by respective work centers. Continually provided spot checks on all work in progress and maintained familiarity with the provisions and responsibilities of the various programs managed and audited by Quality Assurance.• Awarded: Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (2 awards), August 2004• Awarded: Navy Good Conduct Medal, July 2002• Qualified: Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, December 2002
