Nationally accredited by APA in first year of training (2003-2004). Continuing duties: lead the Psychology Training Committee; document availability of training supervisors and placements; evaluate adequacy of training; evaluate progress of trainees; award certificates of internship completion; maintain current internship manual and administrative policies, recruit 4 interns per year via the national Match, administer intern stipends and benefits, communicate with accrediting body. During the COVID 19 pandemic, transitioned the internship applicant interviews to videoconference only. In September 2023, transitioned the Internship to a new Director without creating accreditation issues.

Statewide program certifying qualified mental health professionals at area programs/LMEs to conduct forensic screening evaluations on behalf of the courts. Monitor state-wide resources of currently active Forensic Screeners and all Forensic Screening evaluations done in North Carolina. Establish program needs for new certification training. Wrote Forensic Screener Training Manual. Teach bi-annual certification training sessions; award certificates. Offer consultation to approximately 100 active local forensic examiners. Added the requirement that local forensic examiners and LME/MCO’s log each screening done and provide the Director of the Forensic Screener program with those logs monthly, which allowed for data based identification of need for new screeners to be trained and made possible the monitoring of state-wide resources of all active local forensic examiners and all forensic screening examinations done for all LME/MCO's in North Carolina. Met with regulatory bodies during the rule revision process ordered by the NC legislature in April 2013 under SB-45 and completed in June 2018 as part of the MH/DD/SAS SB-45 workgroup, including presentations to the Commission for MH/DD/SAS and attending Office of Administrative Hearings as a fact source. Informed all active local forensic examiners of changes in the law and rules.
