I've always been fascinated with electronics. In high school I modified my tube radio to record, In college as head lab assistant, I made perhaps the first computerized light show. In graduate school I worked at a television studio where I tuned up the camera's and repaired amplifiers for touring rock and roll bands. After graduate school, I built power amps for radars, and at built computers for the handicapped. My first real break came when I was hired by Lockheed to assist in design, assemble and test the first MMW MMIC based EW array. Then I got to design a series of power MMICs under Jim Komiak. We were quite successful at MMIC PA design moving the state of the Art for many years. Later I worked at IBM developing SiGe PA's that held the state of the art for years. Later I got to work for Hittite. I designed many different GaN PA's, and worked the Wide Band-Gap program with DARPA. Lockheed was growing so hired me to design high power limiters and low noise amplifiers. A great learning experience.
