• Assisting with managing the content and supporting the development of the council’s internet site, leading on specific work areas and projects • Web writer role for content managers in developing the internet • Support the management of the council’s social media channels and corporate responses where required. • Support the development of new and existing media channels, leading on specific work areas and projects including pod and vodcasting, appropriate to training. • Work as part of the press office function of the council, handling media enquiries and drafting responses • Provide media relations support to service groupings working with senior managers and elected members to agree responses, drafting press releases and forming part of the media monitoring and evaluation process. • To undertake and implement the necessary training to enable the production of in-house digital content including: video, photo, graphics • To support the continued improvement of the council’s digital communication channels through the use of analytical software • To support the development of the team’s new digital content strategy and to assist in its implementation • To support the operations of the council’s social media channels both at your normal place of work and on location as appropriate • To be part of the council’s emergency out of hours team in accordance with the corporate guidelines and policies • Be part of the web writing pool for the new corporate internet • Support the daily monitoring and evaluation of press and media including digital media with the compilation of monitoring and evaluation statistics for all communication channels • Ensure media protocols are followed at all times
