In 2005, I decided to found the tea brand Mr. Jones together with Roland de Witte.Mr. Jones offers its customers high-quality tea with attention to people and the environment.After completing my law studies at the University of Amsterdam and holding various positions in marketing and strategy within the business services sector, as well as working as an interim manager, I decided in 2005 that it was time for a change.At the end of 2004, I bought a fashionable T-shirt made from organic and Fair Trade cotton. It made me realise that a product or brand could have a beautiful "inner" quality, in addition to its outward appearance. I was surprised that this combination was not yet seen in the food sector.Together with my aforementioned friend and soon to be business partner, who had a love for tea, we began exploring the possibilities of starting a Fair Trade and organic tea brand. The underlying personal value for me was, and still is, that I believe everyone should be able to live a decent life and that we should responsibly (i.e., sustainably) manage the natural resources available to us. Nothing out of the ordinary, to be honest.Over the years at Mr. Jones, we have learned and seen a lot, from plantations to production, from India to Japan. We prioritise quality and sustainability as our core values. All our products are 100% natural, almost all our teas are organically grown, and where possible and relevant, also bought under Fair Trade certification. And certainly not unimportant, all our teas are 'single estate' and grown on high-altitude plantations, and every type can be traced back to its specific source.In everything we do, we make the most sustainable choices, so let's connect to inspire others to do the same!
