Plan, distribute, allocate, and coordinate regional current locomotive power requirements and develop a 24-48 hour look ahead operations plan. Review and plan inbound locomotive schedules with the diesel shop and service track facilities and plan for required repairs and inspections. Manage power distribution and supply to avoid a delay to train movement by providing timely corrective action in the event of a failure. Manage flow of bad order and shop power to achieve system shops availability goals. Ensure goals for fuel rate and locomotive utilization are met, Originate, complete, maintain, and analyze locomotive reports to satisfy internal and external demands.

Manage and lead a team of 10 to 30 craftsmen in the servicing, maintaining, and repairing of locomotives in a safe, and efficient manner. Implementing safety initiatives, increasing asset utilization, working within budget constraints, prioritizing the interests, and meeting the goals of the Union Pacific Railroad.
