Business Owner
Wholesale and Retail of hand picked inventory. Lately I have been focusing on Toyota SUV's, diesel trucks and sports/musclecars.
Sr. Integration Engineering Technician
Metrologist
I hired in as a Metrologist Contractor, I currently use Verisurf and Polyworks interfaced with the Leica 901,930 and 960 Laser Trackers. My current statement of work is on the F35 production line ranging from the baseline production jobs to problem solving fitment and tooling issues for Engineering. Build assist on the production line is a large percentage of my work since fitment issues arise throughout the facility. I frequently work with Engineering to solve mechanical, fitment, process and quality issues. Many times these problems are solved with simple hand tools or inspection/measurement tools.
Metrologist/Tooling Manager
I originally hired into this company as a Metrologist with a heavy tooling/machining background. The main portion of my job description was fixing and/or replacing old worn down tooling from previous decades of heavy use. Troubleshooting and problem solving (Basically Manufacturing Engineer duties) were a large part of my job. If a production part was damaged or a tool is not working, I had to find out what is wrong, put a plan together and ultimately execute the plan in a timely manner with as little disruption to production as possible. Reverse engineering is also another very important work statement since the tools were actually built around a plane in the late 1960s so scanning and measuring with the tracker are very important. Engineers used my data to see what is really being built and make more informed decisions, thus, speeding production.
Metrologist/Toolmaker
I hired in as a Toolmaker in the Cold Room working the more precise jobs using Spatial Analyzer on the Laser Tracker and Arm with tolerances down to +-.0002” (depending on equipment used). These instruments include Leica, API and Faro brand equipment. We built new tools as well as reworked and courtesy shot existing tools, frequently working closely with inspection on these jobs. Quite often emergent jobs would arise and need worked, including robotic stabilization, experimental rework, first part checks. As a CAMS (Computer Aided Measurement Systems) member in the Charleston Boeing Team, I use various types of equipment such as Photogrammetry, Laser Radars, Laser Trackers, Arms and countless types of targeting to accommodate these processes. We are a service team for the Charleston Site with over 80 baseline surveys plus any and all emergent surveys required. From time to time I have the opportunity to work on emergent tooling jobs since this was my particular specialty in Washington State.
Producer
In this position I was employed as an Insurance Producer responsible for finding and retaining clients. I was recognized as the most dedicated producer with over 11,000 calls per quarter and 100+ hours a week worked consistently.
Small Business Owner
I founded this business specializing in Extruded Concrete Curbing primarily focused on the residential market. The process consisted of marketing the product, estimates, scheduling and management of multiple crews to get the job done.
Fabricator/Maritime Mechanic
I excelled in this position consisting of mechanical and fabrication work on high-end watercraft and equipment, while also acting as the Company Tow Boat Engineer. Every day was a new experience, from refitting a yacht with a new engine and interior to traveling 100 miles offshore to recover a capsized vessel. I often managed a crew of laborers depending on project requirements and time restraints. This is a very fast paced/dangerous job needing full attention to detail and safety to make sure all return home.
Nascar - Car Chief/Pitcrew/Fabricator/Mechanic
Between these three teams I was a Car Chief, Manager, Fabricator, Mechanic, Machinist, Tire Carrier, Jackman Shock Specialist and did the Car Setup. The typical workweek was 7 days and averaged 100+ hours traveling to different tracks all over the country either for a sponsor, practice, or race. Two of the three most notable experiences of mine were winning a Hooters Pro Cup race in Hickory, NC with a car I built and being on ESPN carrying a tire for a Busch Series Driver. My most proud moment was having the Zaxbys truck that I fabricated the body and interior for run at Daytona in 2008.
Timken Steel Poduction
As a Machinist’s Apprentice I ran various Manual Lathes, Mills, Grinders and Saws, as well as several different measuring devices. After getting into the production side I was involved with several departments. These departments include: Finishing/Inspecting, Welding, Melt Shop, Scrap Yard, Railroad Engineer, Heavy Machinery Operator, Rail Crane Operator, Rolling Mill Operator, Shipping, Cold Draw, Piercing Mill and Team Lead/Temp Manager, among others.
Timken Research
While in High School I was selected to start a new Internship Program for exceptional students. This involved learning the basics of Research and Development, Precision Machining, Precision Grinding, Inspection and several other processes. This program remains a large success and is still in operation today
Machinist Trainee
This was my first real machining job outside of the classroom. Basic Lathe, Mill and Metalworking operations were learned here (the real world of work).
