I'm proudly serving as the Board Chair of Detroit Public Theatre in midtown Detroit. DPT produces nationally recognized plays plays and outstanding community programs with world class writers, directors, actors, and designers. We create bold relevant work that illuminates the thrills, joys and challenges of our shared humanity for diverse audiences. I lead a dedicated and hard working board that supports an exceptional leadership team. In my work life, I provide strategic and legal counsel to business owners and leaders, focus on international business, compliance and ethics, governance, and succession. I offer sound judgment empowered by decades of experience in multinational manufacturing, with exceptional legal experience and credentials. As a director, I bring a strategic focus and a keen understanding a board's proper role and how it can be effective. I provide CEOs with candid counsel that is intellectually honest and rigorous. I serve and have experience on business and non-profit boards. In these roles, I am effective in situations of conflict and potential conflict because I understand how to recognize and respect the points of view of all involved and how to recognize and bridge gaps in communication in groups -- boards, management teams, and shareholders.I am the Founder & CEO of Detroiters First. Detroiters First was a social enterprise working to develop affordable, safe and sustainable industrial workspace for small manufacturers and contractors owned by long-time Detroiters. I spent five years learning, planning and working on this endeavor, but was unable to overcome the challenges. I continue to work on supporting small manufacturers and contractors in Detroit.I am a voter protection volunteer. I have served as a "challenger" (a Michigan-specific poll watcher role),including as a team leader at Detroit's absentee vote count at every election since August 2000. The only material fraud has been the #fraudfraud perpetrated by people who falsely claim that the election was compromised.
