Working full time as an Equipment Technician Team Supervisor managing a team of ‘Equipment Technicians' in the National Stores at the Raynesway site in Derby, where specialist equipment is inspected, maintained and supplied to various contracts across the UK and around the world to the overhead line and utility solutions industry. As well as my various Supervisor duties I carried out the same tasks as the 'Equipment Technician' role detailed in my previous position within Balfour Beatty.Key Duties as Team Supervisor include;• Managing the work load of the ‘Maintenance Department', ensuring all equipment requests are completed whilst adhering to strict deadlines set out by management or external customers.• Liaising with the ‘Goods In’ Team Supervisor to ensure equipment required for site is booked in, to enable quick turnaround when required for site requisitions.• Liaising with the ‘Goods Out’ Team Supervisor with regards to ‘Maintenance Requests’ i.e. equipment shortages, timescales and equipment queries. • Complete various health and safety check sheets including daily, weekly and monthly i.e. PAT Testing within the maintenance area, weekly safety check sheets, abrasive wheel check sheets, FLT daily/weekly checks sheets.• Managing excessively damaged items returned from site using Balfour Beatty’s ‘Traction’ system including near misses and non-conformances. • Resolving, where possible team member issues/conflicts before escalating to Line Manager.• Liaise with other departments such as ‘Balfour Beatty Innovations’ during the development/modifying of Balfour Beatty equipment.• Creating and editing of Balfour Beatty official documents such as risk assessments, method statements and inspection check sheets for storage on the company's business management system.

Working full time in the Stores at the Raynesway site in Derby, where specialist equipment is inspected, maintained and supplied to various contracts across the UK and around the world to the overhead line and utility solutions industry.Key Duties Include:• To prepare, inspect and maintain lifting and specialist equipment in accordance with the LOLER and PUWER regulations. Equipment includes Powered Spacer Trolleys, Pull-lifts, chain blocks, Tirfors, rope blocks, TUG units, Drum stands, and hydraulic press heads etc.• To inspect equipment that has been sent to and from sites/suppliers identifying quality, quantity and condition and ensuring all items are booked in and out.• Carry out equipment testing, calibration and inspection as required.• Pick equipment from requisitions and book out and pack suitably for the delivery to site.

Working full time at the 'National Distribution Centre' in Nottinghamshire where specialist equipment is supplied to various contracts for the construction and maintenance of steel lattice towers, overhead lines and telecommunications/broadcast towers.Key Duties Include:• To strip, service, load test and certify a vast range of specialist equipment including chain blocks, pullifts, Tirfors, generators, hydraulic pressing equipment, hydraulic cutters, various types of access platforms, motorised/manual spacer chairs, running out blocks, and wire ropes etc. all in accordance with LOLER and PUWER.• To proof load test or destruction testing of lifting equipment and specialist items, identifying the most appropriate method of testing.• To prepare, inspect and certify various items in strict accordance with LOLER and PUWER against a site request, ensuring at all times that strict deadlines are met.• To inspect, record and certify a range of climbing equipment and PPE.• To carry out Portable Appliance Testing of electrical equipment.
