Provides leadership for the implementation and development of the 24 hour 2-1-1 system, including forecasting, scheduling, and maintaining a high standard of quality. Administers and ensures compliance with grants and contracts and maintains AIRS accreditation. Ensures the continued development of the community resource database as an effective, up-to-date technological system. Coordinates community education, marketing activities and resource development. Oversees the strategic planning, operation and evaluation of the I&R program. Plays a central role in disaster readiness planning and response involving 2-1-1. Promotes strong collaborative working relationship among the Texas I&R network partners.Other responsibilities include management for:Smoke Free Homes Study: A randomized controlled trial intervention to promote smoke free homes among 2-1-1 callers supported by the National Cancer Institute’s State and Community Tobacco Research Initiative.Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas: Increasing Breast, Cervical, and Colon Cancer Screening and increasing HPV vaccination among the Underserved Program – A partnership with UT School of Public Health to deliver evidence-based strategies to increase rates of utilization of local screening programs.Care for Elders Assess Network project – a collaborative of serving seniors agencies to improve care and services provided to vulnerable older adults and family caregivers.STEAR (State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry) – provide supervision of registration for persons in need of transportation in the event of an emergency. Warm Center – established additional response capabilities to accommodate 20 additional staff to for continuous operation during emergency events.

Provided classroom instruction of upper level Crisis Intervention course in the School of Human Sciences and Humanities. Course objective was to provide students with knowledge of crisis intervention and effective listening skills.

Worked to ensure effective management of organization in cooperation with Executive Director involved in budgeting, hiring, staff supervision, program proposal writing, and fund raising to meet agency goals. Maintained and updated telecommunication & computer systems. Developed new programs such as the Teenline, HOPE (Hispanic Outreach Prevention and Education), and Emergency Transportation. Coordinates after hours service delivery with other agencies i.e., Houston Police Department, 9-1-1, United Way I&R, Mental Health Mental Retardation. Assisted with training and consultation provided by the agency. Staff representative for the Survivors of Suicide Support Group, Houston/Harris Co. Sexual Assault Task Force, Interagency Information & Referral System, Children at Risk Technical Advisory Committee. Served as crisis center site certification examiner for American Association of Suicidology.
