About David Johnson

I grew up in Kodiak, AK where I started Commercial Fishing and working in shipyards at 10 years old. My father is a successful, self employed Shipwright who has been working in the trades for over 50 years. I spent most of my youth learning how to rebuild wooden boats. Since then I've worked on all types of commercial vessels I've done everything from welding, engine repair, Hydraulic equipment service/repair and electric control systems for Fisheries, Mooring, Rov, Tug and Research vessels. The last few years I have been working with PLC's, Hmi's and Variable Frequency Drives, utilizing DeviceNet, Modebus and Profinet networks, configured for Remote access. I think quick on my feet, am a fast learner and pride myself in my problem solving abilities. I am a visual and spacial thinker. I focus on the whole picture from all diffrent angles, in order to be 3 steps ahead of what is in front of me. My goal in any project is to have the knowledge and ability to accomplish everything from the inspiration to commission.
