Radar has the potential to allow autonomous robotic systems to operate in environments where they otherwise could not be left to their own devices. I have spend the past 20 years learning to see the world across the whole EM spectrum, although I still wish I had goggles that allowed me to see where the waves go.At the ACFR I developed radar systems with very large bandwidth, 12GHz+, narrow beams (<1 deg) and fast scan times (measured in microseconds) in order to provide the highest possible imaging resolution a radar can achieve. This is a work in progress, but it keeps me busy.
