Profile bio

About David Green, Cprp, Cpsi

I love being a public servant. Working in local government has allowed me to connect and make a tangible difference in my community. Having the ability to interact with my community is what energizes and excites me to go to work each day. Currently I lead a team of 6 FTE and a dozen seasonal front line employees. Everyday offers a new experience for me and my team. One of the most impactful moments of my life was when I decided to move across the world after graduating college. I spent a year teaching English in South Korea. Living in a culture so different than the one I grew up in opened my eyes to the world. After the year ended I solo backpacked throughout Southeast Asia and Africa. I saw indescribable poverty, racism, and strength in my travels. These experiences continue to shape how I see and interact people. Everyone has a story, and I try to listen to each one. After returning to the United States I volunteered with AmeriCorps. My team and I traveled across the American Southwest removing invasive species from ecologically sensitive areas. When I finished volunteering, I returned to the Puget Sound region and began working in recreation. Using my experience in Aquatics as a jumping off point, I have steadily advanced in my career to my current position. Eventually, I plan on moving from my field position to an administrative one. I am continuing my education and gaining experience to help me reach that goal. When I am not working in parks I am usually visiting them with my family. We often go hiking and try to visit at least one new National Park each year.

Listed skills include Research, Emergency Services, Working With Children, Team Building, and 17 others.
