I have been working with Academia, Life Sciences, and Healthcare industries for more than 25 years. My primary role is operating, managing, maintaining, renovating and constructing their facilities. Previously I completed a successful 25-year career in the United States Army, most of which was in the Corps of Engineers, serving in challenging assignments in positions of ever-increasing responsibility. I retired from the Army in 1988 and accepted the position of manager of utilities at Yale University in New Haven, CT; In 1990 I accepted a position at Stanford University as the campus director of utilities and energy management. I moved back to the Washington DC area in 1991 to work with the American Red Cross national headquarters as the senior director of facilities and research services in their Biomedical Services Division. I retired from the American Red Cross in December 2008 to pursue other interests. Besides owning my own consulting firm, I am a facilities consultant at Tyler-Donegan Real Estate Services,Inc. (www.tylerdonegan.com), a commercial brokerage in Ijamsville, MD.Specialties: My specialties include energy management, building operations and maintenance, space planning, safety (OSHA-trained), biosafety, laboratory layout (programming and design review). I also have quite a great deal of experience in procurement, contracting and preparing requests for proposals.
