Worked in Transport for NSW's rail operations modelling team primarily to develop the 'More Trains More Services' timetables for the NSW Trains and Sydney Trains networks. These timetables introduced major operational reforms, alterations to running-times and improved service levels and covered suburban, intercity, regional and freight services.Other work included infrastructure design evaluation, assessing proposed interfaces with the new Sydney Metro network and drafting operations documentation.

Working in the METROL Train Control Centre, this 24-hour operational role entailed the tracking and directing of Metro Trains' fleet of 400 trains to ensure that safety, maintenance and timetable requirements were met. This required a detailed understanding of day-to-day rail operations across a range of areas and close co-ordination with train controllers, workshops, train drivers and signalling staff. This role demanded a high level of concentration, particularly during peak hour and unplanned service disruptions.

Inform management decision-making with detailed modelling of proposed infrastructure, timetable and operational changes. This required a full understanding of the variables that affect a major suburban rail network's operational and commercial performance. Heavy use of RailSys, VBA programming, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.Designed components of numerous recent timetables; these have significantly improved operational and commercial performance by introducing major operational reforms and revenue-oriented service patterns.
