I taught IB English A and IB Theory of Knowledge (TOK) for 6 of my 7 years at CAS, developing curriculum and assessments for the courses and maintaining a 100% pass rate in both subjects for the IB Diploma. I also served in a managerial role as IB Extended Essay Coordinator, performing the following tasks: project management for cohorts of up to 45 participants and 15 teacher-supervisors;strategic planning of timelines, deadlines, and training sessions; event planning/coordination; creating and presenting professional development sessions for teaching staff; maintaining regular written and oral communication with key stakeholders – e.g., parents, administrators, students, teachers – including presenting at large group information sessions; streamlining procedures and communication; and data analysis and program evaluation. As a result, I received praise for my communication and presentations, I improved the efficiency of the EE process, and I increased the pass rate to 99%. For my 7th year at CAS, I served as part of the Learning Support team performing the following tasks: led the development of a new Study Skills program for approximately 350 secondary students; developed systems for data collection, tracking, and analysis to improve programming; mentored both at-risk and gifted-and-talented students; and facilitated departmental, administrative, and professional development meetings. As a result, we improved key performance indicators (KPIs) by 10-15% each trimester, for a net improvement of approximately 40% in just one year.I served, by invitation, on the principal’s Leadership Team, advising on organizational policy and procedural matters. From the class of 2021, I was honored to receive the Teacher Appreciation Award and to be the faculty graduation speaker. In 2019 I received a letter of commendation from the school director for volunteering to assist with new teacher orientation.
