I was elected to Council President for 2011, and maintained progressive order as the City went through a mayoral recall election. While on the Utilities Committee, I helped negotiate a new Sewer and Water Agreement with the neighboring City of Barberton, and the companion JEDD Agreement, resulting in a substantial rate reduction to Norton customers. I also served on the special Mine Utilization Committee, which successfully negotiated the transfer of ownership of a vast abandoned limestone mine from PPG Enterprises to the City. This transfer enabled the City to control the use of the mine.
