My background is technical and administrative, and I’ve had my best successes by empowering leaders under me to achievements neither of us previously thought possible. I bring a rich background in program management, process improvement and business acumen into my work. I have a 20+ year track record of leading capable teams to conquer daunting technical and operational tasks. Prior to shifting to the private sector in August 2022, I served for 21 years in the US Coast Guard. The military trains engineers to be Project managers, and then hones us into Program managers. Displaying initiative was rewarded early in my career by assignment as an Executive Officer in 2010, where one's job is to be the "spark" who leads, initiates, and guides ongoing operations while simultaneously budgeting, planning, and preparing for future operations. The best part of these rewarding jobs was caring for and nurturing people who I was privileged to work with. It's been a joy to watch their success. These early successes expedited a seamlessly transition from the military into the internet infrastructure field. I learn something new everyday, and meet exciting people, but the importance of learning one’s craft, attention to detail, caring for people, and strategic leadership are vital in both the military and industry.
