About David Krause

David is CEO of Frutura and joined the company at its founding. Through its family of companies, Frutura is a powerful sales and marketing network designed to supply global customers with high-quality fruit, 365 days a year. Before joining Frutura, David served as president of Wonderful Citrus, the largest integrated grower, packer, and shipper of fresh citrus in the world with 58,000+ acres of company-owned and operated farmland in California, Texas, and Mexico. David is a third-generation farmer whose ag career began as soon as he could ride his bike to the ranch of his Uncle Walter - a respected tree fruit grower and nurseryman. He knew then and there that he wanted to be a farmer and as a young man, focused on the packing business where he soon ran a significant citrus packing operation. David earned his AS degree in Plant Science from Reedley College.His passion for high-quality produce and effective, sustainable farming methods is also expressed by David's commitment to the ag trade organizations where he has served as board chair. These include Sunkist Growers where, in his 20’s, he became the group’s youngest board member; United Fresh Produce Association; and the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation where he was also named an Honorary Fellow. David was named Produce Man of the Year in 2012 by The Packer.
