Founded the Leaders in Training Program (LIT) at Autism Behavioral Services. -The Leaders in Training Program is an initiative program for the behavioral development and implementation of skill-sets needed to create and bolster a foundation in social, professional, domestic, academic, and personal competencies for a prominent lifestyle. -The idea of the program is to augment the education and exposure to multi-faceted fields and skills to prepare them for the real world. They are put in to real world experiences under the guidance of their mentors and shown the processes needed to be successful as a functioning adult. (ex: grocery shopping, oil changes, creating a budget, financial management, rental applications, job applications, mock interviews, community service work, cooking, cleaning, and more.) -Our lives can be complex: Applying for college, finding our career interests, doing our laundry, and having healthy relationships with family members, friends, and romantic interests. LIT provides a support system to alleviate the stresses and gives actionable steps to assist in these transitions. -It provides real life experience: Community Outings, Community Service, and Volunteering is key to gaining exposure in real world circumstances. Providing these opportunities in a fun and structural environment is key for functional development. -Mentorship: LIT Mentors younger kids in fun activities. This in itself has changed the behavior and adopting of skill-sets for our teens. They want to do their best and it gives them the opportunities for heightened achievement.
