    Here it was my duty to repair to component level, subassemblies and machines brought in by the field service engineers. These repairs were carried out, sometimes, without the use of diagrams. It was also my duty to commission new machines for existing networks. This included dumb and intelligent terminals for use on the networks, and also the distributed servers used by some networks. I also tested and configured servers for new minicomputer systems to be installed by the principle engineers. These included Sun Microsystems, Prime Computers, Digital Equipment, Datapoint and Wang computer systems. I was also the principal Wang engineer. To this end I wrote a set of diagnostics programs to be used by the in-house engineers to repair any terminal that was brought in for repair. I also procured parts and maintained a technical store for use by the field service engineers.
