• Senior resource providing design and development expertise of a 10G Oracle data warehouse which centralised all fund information for reporting and published material.• Responsibilities included table structure design, Extract Transform and Load (ETL) via Microsoft SQL Server, .Net C#, PL/SQL and Autosys, multiple levels of testing, implementation and post go-live support.• Designed and developed a user interface for the above application in C# and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) to enable the business to manage complex data relationships and provide instant and scheduled data transfers between systems.• Initially hired for a six month contract, this was extended for another 6 months.
• Provided Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, C# and Business Objects expertise for implementing extract, transform and load functionality for the Derivatives Management Information data warehouse. This system provided timely and accurate business KRI’s and KPI’s to enable control and effective management of operations and support of front office business managers globally.• Responsibilities included database development, design, performance tuning, extract development, lifecycle management, data reconciliations, testing, release management and documentation of the 500 GB system.• Identified the need and developed an automated regression test application which saved 5 days work per release cycle.• Worked extensively with a geographically dispersed team in multiple time zones (predominantly Singapore and New York) and acted as mentor to junior developers.• Implemented a development and release methodology to improve quality and traceability.• Initially hired for a six month contract, this was extended a maximum of four times.

By using a multi-tier architecture and a robust yet flexible design in Microsoft Access, it is now being used as a standard tool in Accenture implementations. British Telecom• Release lead for a British Telecom’s retail test platform. Responsible for managing the delivery of complex releases to the test environments. Worked with aggressive timelines using a scrum development methodology. Involved extensive liaison with offshore teams and excellent problem solving abilities over a wide variety of technologies; specialising in Oracle.
• Developed load processes for the data warehouse. Required analysis with business owners to extract valuable data from externally supplied sources in multiple formats and media. Extensive use of SQL Loader and PL/SQL in an Oracle 10g environment. Required complex data manipulation to standardize load processes to ensure traceability. • Maximised efficiency and enforced business rules by developing re-usable PL/SQL modules. The improvements reduced the data load turnaround time from 3 weeks to 3 days.• Automated the process for creating load scripts to minimize developer error and improve time taken from 16 hours to 1 hour per load.
• Led the implementation of an Oracle enterprise solution to a global client from pre-sales, sales pitch, pilot project, data migration, training, and further international expansion.• Led a team of three to deliver an offline reporting tool which was platform independent and secure, utilising one-way synchronization to provide offline reporting and data migration capabilities. Implemented using PL/SQL, XML, Web Service, .Net 2.0• Designed and developed a mobile trial and breeding management system. Encompassed a rich user interface including multi-language support, offline usage, synchronization over LAN and Internet, one click installation, auto-registration and validation.
