I had some wonderful experiences with this organization, including a three week deployment to (at that time) West Germany and Primary Leadership Development Course in Nebraska, what the Marine Corps would call NCO school.My fellow soldiers/guardsmen were dedicated, hard-working guys who were a pleasure to have known. The training was first-rate and I have nothing but utmost respect and appreciation for the organization as a whole.

0311 Infantry RiflemanUnited States Marine Corps Jun 1982 - Jun 1986After attending Boot Camp at MCRD-San Diego, CA, and Infantry Training School at Camp Pendleton, CA, I served for 15 months at Marine Barracks, Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, CA.Following the Marine Barracks duty, I served for six months as a grenadier in an infantry platoon with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines at Camp Pendleton. The final two years of my tour of duty were served in STA (Surveillance and Target Aquisition) platoon 1/5, as a sniper-observer (NOT a sniper, as I did not attend sniper school).For six months, I was overseas to Okinawa, Japan and South Korea. I also attended the US Army Jungle Warfare School in Panama for three weeks.I am very grateful to have been afforded the opportunity to serve my country and my fellow Marines and I salute those who currently go in harms way on a daily basis on our behalf!
