Head Of Technology & PrincipalNz Funds Management 2004 - 2014Auckland, New ZealandIn 2004, having mentored one of the IT team into the IT Manager role, I was able to take a more strategic role at NZ Funds. IT continued to report to me and I was also given responsibility for the Client Services department. Client Services processed client transactions as well as answering queries and providing support to both direct clients and advisors. There were 12-15 staff in the IT team at this stage and about 10 in Client Services. I was also made a Principal (a minor shareholder) of the firm in 2005 and was involved in a mentoring role with a number of the Operational leaders.In the subsequent years, I was heavily involved with a variety of business projects across the firm, including : - Designing and implementing a new goals-based advise framework - Working through the requirements and operational implications of the new PIE regime - Designing & delivering a nationwide integrated CRM and advisor business system. - Taking a major role in the design and implementation of the APS investment advice platform - Taking a lead role in the implementation of the NZ Funds KiwiSaver offering.In 2007/8 the Global Financial Crisis rocked the Funds Management industry and we had a few years of very difficult times. During this time I was instrumental in leading the operational part of the firm and helping them cope with the extreme events that occurred. -

I attended conferences run by our advisers and was a regular speaker at these and other events held for and by our client groups. -
