Technical sales of machine safety products. Working with a large external sales team based at offices around the UK. Formation of an independent Machine Safety product department initially incorporating sales of Honeywell Light Barriers, ProSafe trapped keys, Guardmaster switches & relays, Mowbrey(!) and then extended as new manufacturers were added PILZ, Castell, Omron, Leuze, Mayser, Mechan etc.

Developed sales area in North Eastern UK and Scotland. During this time, the UK Machine-Safety market was in its infancy and the benefits of using the products had to be SOLD to the customer!Face-to-face product demonstrations and presentations of British, and later, EN standards to customers were the norm.This was a very fast moving environment with new products seemingly being launched every few months.

Fully skilled - apprentice trained mechanical & production Engineer.Experience gained in ALL departments over a four year period culminating in acceptance for Jig & Tool design draughtsman. Injection Mould Tool design experience was added later.I then moved into production - Systems Engineer role and finally moved to Sales Engineer role.Lucas NSF designed and manufactured various ranges of switch products for supply to the Defence, Aerospace, Automotive and other markets.Blue Chip customers included British Aerospace, Royal Ordnance, Rolls-Royce / Bentley. LINN Audio, NEAL Electronics (Police Tape Recorders) British Leyland, Hoover. Vickers Defence, Eurotunnel / TMLNSF also assembled solenoids under licence from TDS of Japan - These were supplied to BROTHER, Ricoh, CANON, Matsushita.Rotary switches from EBE of Germany were also assembled under licence.
