I am the senior member of Maynard Cooper's Labor & Employment Practice Group and have more than 40 years of practice experience primarily as a labor and employment litigator. My primary practice area is in representing the employer and management in employment cases. I have handled major cases against both private plaintiff lawyers and the United States Department of Labor in cases alleging employment discrimination, breach of contract, wage and hour violations, mine safety violations and more.My litigation practice has evolved over time and much of my current practice concentrates on serious client problems that involve sensitive circumstances and, quite often, crisis management. By virtue of my extensive experience with corporate Boards and senior executives, combined with my temperament, I am called on by businesses to handle difficult situations where legal advice is at the core, but an understanding of people and the development of wise business plans are needed. I am regarded as a prime resource for the clients who know me best for handling the hardest of circumstances.
