David J. Maher, founder of Maher & Company PC, is an authority on medical management, private company management and retirement and estate planning. Since leaving the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP in 1984, he has positioned his firm as the regional leader in advising medical groups, construction companies, individual and closely-held businesses. Through niche market-ing, the firm has sustained annual double digit growth with an ever-expanding client base. Mr. Maher is past president of the National CPA Health Care Advisors Association (HCAA), which provides management strategies to the health care industry and served on its Executive Committee for seven years. He served as President of Algonquin Golf Club in St. Louis, Missouri in 2011 and served on its Board the prior five years. He is currently the President of Marais Temps Claire Duck Club in St. Charles, Missouri. His firm is a member of the Private Companies Practice Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to the national AICPA, Mr. Maher’s firm is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.Mr. Maher has spoken to numerous health care associations and companies regarding the many issues facing this ever changing industry. He has spoken at the AICPA Practitioners Symposium on current healthcare issues and has appeared frequently on television and radio.Mr. Maher is a 1982 graduate of Western State Colorado University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
